Electrical Transmission Project Engineer

Discipline: ElectricalTransmission line

Location: Fargo

Deadline: until filled

Status: Full Time

Summary

  • This position must have aninterest in the design of electrical transmission power lines and structures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilitie

  • Performs the routine aspects of transmission line engineering assignments.
  • Performs line design according to relevant codes and standards using PLS-CADD software. package.
  • Understands all safety codes and over load factors that pertain to transmission lines and distribution systems.
  • Prepares plans, specifications, and construction estimates for transmission line projects.
  • Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and recommends necessary changes.
  • Researches design options and documents findings.
  • Attends design review meetings and interacts with clients.
  • Make periodic visits to construction sites as required.
  • Coordinates and works with material manufacturers and construction contracts.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering required, with emphasis on structural or power systems preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience with strong technical skills.
  • Registered or have the ability to take the exam within six months of employment is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of various engineering disciplines and contractors to complete an integrated project.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills required, with experience in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD preferred and in such applications as spreadsheets, databases, and engineering programs.
